This policy explains what information StackMitra (stackmitra.com) collects when you visit this website, what we do with it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) of India and the core principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
StackMitra is run by an individual publisher in India. The business of this website is publishing written guides and earning affiliate commissions when readers buy products through our links. We do not run a user account system, a store, or a newsletter at present.
1. What we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible.
Anonymous analytics (Umami)
We use Umami Analytics to count page visits and understand which guides are helpful. Umami is privacy-friendly and does not use cookies. For each page view we collect:
- The page URL you viewed
- Your referring URL (the site that linked you here, if any)
- A truncated, hashed IP-derived location (country / region level, not a full IP address)
- Your browser type and device type
This data cannot be used to identify you as an individual. We use it to decide which guides to improve and which topics to cover next.
Email (if you write to us)
If you email us at hello@stackmitra.com, we naturally receive your email address and the content of your message. We use it only to reply to you and, if relevant, to improve future guides based on questions you raise. We do not add your address to any mailing list without explicit consent.
Email subscribers (future)
StackMitra does not currently operate an email newsletter. If we launch one in the future, subscription will be strictly opt-in via a form, you will be able to unsubscribe with one click, and this policy will be updated to describe exactly what is collected and how it is stored before the form goes live.
2. What we do not collect
- We do not use cookies — not for analytics, not for advertising, not for "session" tracking. Umami is cookieless by design.
- We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any ad-network trackers.
- We do not collect names, phone numbers, addresses, or payment information. There is nothing to buy on this site.
- We do not run retargeting campaigns. If you see an ad for a hosting company after reading our review, that is the hosting company's own retargeting, not ours.
3. Third parties
When you click an affiliate link and leave StackMitra for, say, Hostinger or Zoho, you are subject to that company's privacy policy. We have no control over and take no responsibility for their data practices. Please review their policies if you are concerned.
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard server logs (IP, user agent, request path) for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained per Cloudflare's policy and are not accessible to us for analytics purposes.
4. We do not sell your data
StackMitra does not sell, rent, or trade any information — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to affiliate partners. Our entire business model is commission on referred purchases, which does not require your personal data.
5. Your rights under the DPDP Act
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you.
- Correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Erasure of personal data that is no longer necessary.
- Grievance redressal if you believe we have handled your data improperly.
- Nomination of another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.
Because we collect essentially no identifying information, most of these rights apply only to email correspondence you have sent us. To exercise any of them, email the grievance officer below.
Readers in the EU / UK have equivalent rights under GDPR / UK-GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.
6. Grievance officer
For any question, complaint, or request related to this policy or to your personal data, contact:
Grievance Officer: Dushyant
Email: hello@stackmitra.com
Response time: We aim to respond within 7 working days.
7. Children
StackMitra is intended for adult readers. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has sent us identifying information, email the grievance officer and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data — for example, when we launch a newsletter — we will update this page and change the "Effective date" above. Substantive changes will be noted at the top of the page for at least 30 days after they take effect.
